The Consignment Note is the official document that accompanies goods during transport and acts as a contract between the sender, the carrier and the recipient. Its digital version – known internationally as e-CMR – incorporates electronic signatures and traceability systems, ensuring greater legal certainty, reduced administrative costs and more efficient management. The implementation of this digital tool aims to simplify and streamline the logistical and administrative processes associated with the transport of goods.
OUR WORK
Montrel has taken a decisive step forward in the digitisation of transport with the implementation of the Digital Waybill. This solution, which is fully legally valid, replaces paper documentation with a secure electronic format that can be accessed from devices such as tablets or mobile phones.
One of the most notable advances is the optimisation of the loading process. Until now, drivers had to wait until they arrived at the terminal to identify orders and organise their distribution in the tanker compartments.
With the new functionality, this operation can be carried out before arriving at the terminal, thanks to a specific option included in the application. The result: less time spent at the terminal and a significantly more streamlined loading process.
In addition, both the carrier and the recipient can check the status of the shipment in real time, each from their corresponding version of the app. This immediate traceability provides security, accuracy and much more comprehensive operational control.
Once the cargo has been unloaded, the recipient can digitally sign the bill of lading, either from the driver’s application or from a specific app designed for recipients. In this same environment, they can record incidents, indicate changes of destination or any other information required by current regulations.
All this information is automatically sent to headquarters, allowing end-to-end monitoring of the process: from departure from the terminal to final delivery at the recipient’s premises.
Montrel is leading the digital transformation of the energy and industrial sectors through IT solutions that connect physical operations with administrative management.
The projects carried out for our clients confirm the applicability of the Digital Waybill in demanding sectors such as Oil & Gas and industrial gases, and, in general, in any transport operation.
