SIMAC-COKE and SIMAC-EESS for BP in Spain
BP has been present in Spain since 1954. It operates 629 service stations and is now one of the main energy companies in the country. Moreover, it ranks third in the Spanish oil market, while also maintaining a strong position in the industrial natural gas sector.
The Castellón refinery has been operating since 1967 and is one of the main economic and industrial engines in the Valencian Community. In addition, it has a crude oil processing capacity of 6 million tonnes per year.
SIMAC-COKE System
SIMAC-COKE was developed and implemented for BP at the Castellón refinery by Montrel. It manages the coke flow from refineries and warehouses for sale to end customers. Furthermore, it facilitates and optimizes the stock control and management of BP Coke in Spain, including derived products such as green coke and calcined coke, and all mixtures produced.
Additionally, the system preserves and leverages the accumulated experience and know-how of the current process flow. This reduces the learning curve for users and optimizes operations. Another challenge addressed was implementing a user-friendly interface with high usability, in coordination with the coke business.
SIMAC-EESS System
For the same company, the SIMAC-EESS system was developed in 2019 for both Spain and Portugal. This fuel unloading information management system integrates data manually entered by drivers before and after truck unloading at BP service stations.
Moreover, users can access the system via a smartphone or tablet through a Web Application (System Client Module). In addition, the system generates PDF files of the Global Shipment Documents and Delivery Guides for each travel order. These documents include the product quantities loaded and the amounts before and after unloading at the service station tanks.
