Siemens has entrusted Montrel with the manufacturing and supply of 119 protection, control, and metering panels for the Mesaieed Combined Cycle Thermal Power Plant, located south of Doha (Qatar). This contract represents a strategic milestone for Montrel, as it marks the company’s first international supply project in the field of electrical equipment manufacturing.
The project, promoted by Qatar’s public electricity and water corporation, Kahramaa, incorporates Siemens technology. With an installed capacity of 2,400 MW, the plant accounts for approximately 40% of Qatar’s electricity generation, establishing itself as one of the largest combined cycle power plants in the Middle East.
OUR WORK
The protection, control, and metering panels manufactured by Montrel integrate the necessary devices to protect, control, and measure energy in high-, medium-, and low-voltage installations. These electrical assemblies combine protection systems (protection relays), control systems (remote terminal units and PLCs), and metering systems (current transformers, energy meters, and power analyzers), ensuring system safety and reliable operation.
These panels are essential for the safety, monitoring, and efficiency of electrical networks.
For Montrel, collaborating with Siemens and a final client of Kahramaa’s stature represents a decisive step forward in its internationalization strategy and strengthens its positioning as a benchmark provider of protection and control solutions.
