Joint Innovation by Montrel and CLH
CLH and Montrel invented and patented the SIMAC-ICOMPP System, designed for the automatic identification of compartments in petroleum trucks, including purge control and electronic delivery notes. The system is protected under Invention Patent: P201530654.
Automated Loading and Unloading
The system verifies the unique identification of each compartment during loading and unloading. It uses a small hardware device (TAG) installed on each compartment, which communicates with the loading arm and the terminal’s equipment. Additionally, the system records the loading process in the TAG for later electronic reading at the Service Station.
Improved Safety and Control
Previously, truck compartment assignments were manually entered by the driver, increasing the risk of errors. The new SIMAC-ICOMPP System automatically checks assignments and prevents incorrect operations. Traditional truck safety systems are passive, so defects could lead to overfills or spills. SIMAC-ICOMPP mitigates these risks effectively.
Automatic Purging and Quality Assurance
Before starting a load, all compartments are automatically purged. This prevents unwanted mixing of different products and ensures high-quality service according to CLH standards.
Optimization at Service Stations
Unloading at Service Stations can occur at night or during business hours. The system reduces human intervention and errors, ensuring proper delivery quantities and product matching to reception tanks.
International Reach
Developed at Montrel’s factory in Seville, the SIMAC-ICOMPP System improves quality control and safety for over 5,000 tankers in Spain. Its design meets international standards, making it suitable across Europe and worldwide.
Main Benefits
-
Ensures correct compartments-arms-products association, preventing errors.
-
Prevents loading quantities from exceeding compartment capacities.
-
Confirms thorough purging of compartments before loading.
-
Provides an electronic record of each compartment’s load, downloadable at Service Stations.
Total Safety and Automation
The SIMAC-ICOMPP System enhances safety, avoids spills, overfills, and contamination, and allows fully automated, unattended loading and unloading. This system is a result of collaboration between CLH, Montrel, and FMC Technologies’ Sening division in Hamburg.
