Cepsa and Montrel develop a pioneering and high-performance terminal for fuel discharge management in service stations
About the SIMAC-TGD System
Cepsa and the Montrel industrial group have developed a Discharge Management Terminal (TGD) for high-performance hydrocarbons. This system is pioneering in Spain for the automatic management of liquid fuel discharges at service stations and other fuel storage facilities.
Through its touch screen, the system assists drivers during tanker unloading operations. Thanks to an intelligent local control post, the driver can complete the entire process safely and without station personnel intervention. As a result, this reduces human errors and limits direct contact of professionals with the products.
Moreover, the Terminal strengthens security during unloading. It achieves this through centralized electronic control and monitoring of all process stages. These include automatic receipt of delivery notes, verification of seals, confirmation of necessary safety actions, and even the possibility of remote supervision from a control center.
The TGD system also prevents contamination between products. In addition, it ensures safe identification of each hydrocarbon and tracks the quantities loaded in each compartment through a small encapsulated hardware device called a TAG, supplied by Montrel. Therefore, it prevents products from being unloaded into the wrong storage tanks.
Julio Hernández Penide, head of technology for Cepsa’s commercial area, stated that after three years of development, they are proud to complete the final phase of real system tests and computer integration. Furthermore, this represents another milestone in innovation and technology applied to the sector.
For Luis A. Víu, CEO of Montrel, “this innovation represents the culmination and success of our R+D+i work, maintained with tenacity and effort. Indeed, it demonstrates our commitment to continuous innovation and improvement in our business activities.”
