Between 1999 and 2013, Montrel designed, installed, and commissioned the first LNG cryogenic truck loading terminals in Spain at Enagás’ regasification plants in Huelva, Barcelona, Cartagena, and El Musel (Gijón).

Since 1998, Montrel has developed all software for terminal automation, tailored to Enagás’ operational needs and expanded as required. Today, these terminals feature automated multi-bay loading systems, essential for LNG distribution to areas not connected by pipeline.

Scope included control systems, automated loading processes, documentation generation, supervision, instrumentation, IT and mechanical engineering, plus remote maintenance from Montrel’s offices.

At El Musel, Montrel executed the basic and detailed engineering of the management and control system, including documentation integration. This facility plays a key role in Spain’s energy strategy, supporting new LNG applications and transport decarbonization.
