Montrel executed the automated loading and unloading system for tanker trucks transporting derivatives from the Viura natural gas field in La Rioja, managed by the joint venture between Unión Fenosa Gas Exploración y Producción, S.A. (Naturgy) and SHESA. This automated loading system ensured precise control and safe transfer operations during fuel handling.
OUR WORK
The scope included detailed engineering, manufacturing of electrical equipment, field installation, and development of the control and management system. The objective was to provide a safe, automated, and efficient system to handle product transfer from extraction to transport.
The Viura reservoir, located beneath La Rioja, holds 3 billion m³ of proven natural gas reserves, equivalent to five years of regional demand or 10% of national consumption. The EPC contractor was Frames (Netherlands), while Montrel took responsibility for the electrical, automation, and integration aspects.
